Welcome to Project X CODE! Follow the steps below to get up and running, create student logins and assign homework.

Log in to Oxford Owl for School

If you’re not already logged in, go to www.oxfordowl.co.uk and click the ‘Log in’ link at the top right of the page. Make sure the ‘Teachers’ tab is highlighted and enter your credentials.

Updating your school details

If your administrator hasn’t already updated your school details, you may need to update your academic year rollover and your year group label.

Once in Oxford Owl for School, click on your name at the top right of the page and then ‘My school’.

Use the Edit links to select the month in which your academic year rolls over, and to select the convention you use for your year group label.

Setting up your teacher logins for staff

One of the first things you can do to get up and running quickly is to set up teacher logins for the staff in your school who need to access Project X CODE. You can find out how to do this here

Create individual logins for your students

In order to assign homework to individual children, you’ll need to set up a login for each child. This can be done one child at a time, but we recommend that you create them one class at a time, using the student import process.

The usernames and passwords are automatically generated by Oxford Owl, and you can set up as many as you need.

You can find out how to create student logins here.

Creating classes

Setting up classes enables you to assign homework to multiple students at a time. Classes can include students from one or more year groups, giving you the flexibility to create any number of classes or groups.

If you’re not creating classes as part of the student import process, you can follow instructions to create classes here.

Assigning homework

Once your students are set up with their individual logins, you can start assigning homework. First select the ‘eBooks and Quizzes’ tab from the Project X CODE subscription page, and then follow the instructions on assigning homework here.

Checking progress

After children have completed their homework, they can let you know what they thought of it. You’ll be able to see this in the Homework and reporting area.
